Becoming a salon co-owner has fulfilled one of my ambitions as a hair stylist, having this role has given me a boost to show off my skills as a stylist and to help encourage others through their training.
I started off my hairdressing career as a junior at a salon in Bishopsmead, the salon was based in the owner’s home. This gave me the opportunity to have one-to-one training and really get to know the clients.
After my training was complete I moved to a salon in Tavistock called Turning Heads where I continued to build my clientèle, this is where I worked alongside Julie and Carmel.
I’ve completed colouring and cutting courses in the past and taken the opportunity to go to Amsterdam to take part in the Keune academy a number of times; this is where the colours and products are produced. This has enabled me to get a better understanding of the products and see where they are sourced from.
My future aim is to keep the salon fresh and up to date with the latest trends and techniques. Watch this space!
